Transports

We refer you to the website of the Munich public transport company, where you can find information about tickets and fares (you might consider to purchase a weekly IsarCard). Be sure to check out the tariff map before choosing the area of validity of your ticket.
Moreover, the journey planner which can be found on the webpage is available as a smartphone application as well.

From the airport (Flughafen) to the ASC

The S-Bahn lines S1 and S8 (faster) both travel to the inner district (Innenstadt) and to the main station.
It is best to get off at the stop "Karlsplatz (Stachus)" and follow the indications for the trams 27 (direction "Petuelring") or 28 (direction "Scheidplatz"): their stop "Pinakotheken" is just next to the ASC.
Alternatively, one could get off at "Marienplatz", take the U3 or the U6 (direction "Odeonsplatz") to "Universität" and walk from there (5 - 10 minutes).

The Lufthansa airport bus leaves every 20 minutes and connects the airport (Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Munich Airport Center) to the main station in about 40 minutes. The only intermediate stop is near the U-Bahn station "Nordfriedhof" along the U6 line.

From the main station (Hauptbahnhof) to the ASC

The easiest possibility is to take the bus 100 (direction "Ostbahnhof"). The stop "Pinakotheken" is 300m away from the ASC.
Alternatively, one can reach "Karlsplatz (Stachus)" — either on foot or by tram lines 16, 17, 20, 21 — and from there catch either tram 27 (direction "Petuelring") or 28 (direction "Scheidplatz"): their stop "Pinakotheken" is just next to the ASC.

Accommodation

Here is a list of hotels with easy access to the workshop venue.
Most of these hotels are well within walking distance from the ASC. The others are anyway close to public transportation.
