The described pattern reflects the form taught at the
Volkshochschule München
and
Volkshochschule Pullach
as well as
associated Taekwon Do schools. Other schools may teach the pattern
with slight differences. Ask your master for the correct form for your
school. As differences are known to the author, they are marked.
All Punches with the fist during Tan-Gun Hyong are at Sangdan (upper level),
i.e. to the face of a virtual opponent.
Ready posture: Narani-Sogi
- 1.
- Turn 90 degree to the left (direction L1), in
Hugul-Sogi, knife hand block
(Sudo Taebi Makki).
- 2.
- Step with right foot (direction L1) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with right fist.
- 3.
- Turn 180 degree to the right (direction R1),
Hugul-Sogi, knife hand block
(Sudo Taebi Makki).
- 4.
- Step with left foot (direction R1) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with left fist.
- 5.
- Turn 90 degree to the left (direction V), in
Chongul-Sogi,
Hadan Pakkat Palmok Paro Makki with left arm.
- 6.
- Step with right foot (direction V) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with right fist.
- 7.
- Step with left foot (direction V) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with left fist.
- 8.
- Step with right foot (direction V) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with right fist.

- Turn over the front foot (right foot) counterclockwise
90 degree to the right (direction R2), in
Hugul-Sogi,
doubleblock (Hugul Ssang Pakkat Palmok Makki).

- Step with right foot (direction R2) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with right fist.
- 11.
- Turn 180 degree to the right, clockwise (direction L2),
Hugul-Sogi,
doubleblock (Hugul Ssang Pakkat Palmok Makki).

- Step with left foot (direction L2) in
Chongul-Sogi, punch with left fist.
- 13.
- Turn 90 degree to the left (direction H), in
Chongul-Sogi,
Hadan Pakkat Palmok Paro Makki with left arm, and upper block
again with left arm.

- Step with right foot (direction H) in

upper block with right Arm.

- Step with left foot (direction H) in

- Turn over the front foot (right foot) counterclockwise

Pull back left foot into ready posture Narani Sogi,
with 90 degree turn counterclockwise.
