Taekwon Do in and around Munich

There are many TKD schools in Munich. Most of the Sport clubs have a TKD section, but they are more competition oriented. Also some private clubs are out there, some oriented to competition, some more traditionally like the Black Belt Centers.

One of the largest traditional TKD schools is the ``Münchner Volkshochschule'', which is an nonprofit organization for adult education, sponsored by the Munich city government.

The Volkshochschule (short form: MVHS) has around 30 TKD courses, as well as courses for Women Self Defense. TKD has over 20 year tradition in the MVHS. The first courses were started by Master Song Chae Yong, 6. Dan. Through the years a countless number of people have studied TKD under his guidance.

During the last 10 years TKD branched out to other communities around Munich, for example the Volkshochschule Pullach or the ``Volkshochschule Unterhaching''. Also the ``Siemens Freizeitgruppe'', a company sports club has an traditional TKD section.
