Chungdan An Palmok Yop Makki

This block is used as an defense against fist to the head, or the upper body. This is the second block a beginner learns. This block will mainly be practiced in Hugul-Sogi but is also possible in other stances. For example in the fith Hyong (Yul-Kok) in Chongul-Sogi.

A description of the technique for example in right L-stance (Hugul-Sogi) with the left arm.

1.
Form a L-stance Hugul-Sogi with the left foot in front. View in direction of the left foot.
2.
Both arms crossed in front of the chest, the blocking arm is lower than the other. The back of the hands show up. Figure 2.14
3.
Pull the left elbow to front.
4.
Flip the left forearm up, while pulling back the right fist to the short ribs. Figure 2.15
5.
Turn both fists shortly before the endposition is reached.
6.
In the endposition of the left arm, the fist is slightly under the height of your eyes. Figure 2.16
